MEGRAME® solar control glass units are a hi-tech product that allows sunlight to pass through a window or façade while reflecting away a large degree of the sun’s heat. The indoor space stays still bright, but much cooler than in the case if usual glass were used. This is especially relevant for homes with a large part of the façade made of glass, and with large windows facing south.
- Solar control glazing not only protect against heat loss in winter, but also reduce the cost of indoor conditioning in summer. - Solar control glazing visually almost doens‘t differ from usual clear glass, but effectively reflects sunlight. - Solar control glazing reliably protect home from heat, but provide sufficient light transmittance.
Solar control glass units also may be:
Mirrored (reflective). This glass is covered with a special coating that reflects up to 75% of solar energy. These glass units are mostly used for glazing commercial buildings.
Tinted.Glass can be colored, gray, brown or green. Tinted glass units are often used in the construction of such buildings, where the area of the windows makes a very large part of the building. Heat transfer and color intensity depends on the thickness of the glass.
